Abstract
This research highlights western culture and its impact on Eastern handicrafts that are in complete loss, due to the spread of western culture in our markets, specifically Mosul’s markets that are famous for high craftsmanship, production quality and singularity in all crafts and professions, as an urban city has a history and its presence among all industrial cities in terms of the presence of factories and craftsman, even though it was small, but it meets the need and ambition, as well as, handicrafts gives a clear image about the legacy of Mosul, in addition, it provides an economic return as an income for individual and family that might live on, then explain the roles that went through a long time ago and what it reached at the present time, under the economic conditions that our country is going through, including Mosul after 2003 and so far. This clearly affected the absence of many crafts that were practiced in the markets of Mosul. This topic also has a great importance ,as it has affected family cohesion and entity as well, I saw that I study the dimension of this phenomenon and the reasons for the absence of almost many crafts and its impact on people's lives and their new way of living , and perhaps their weak family cohesion in light of the new culture, as well as ,its impact on economic of Iraq. All these conditions made me study this phenomenon and its causes
