It is so strange that a professional praise poet like Al-Mutannaby praises Ali bin Mansoorul-Hajib to be rewarded by only one Dinar while he was rewarded thousands of gold Dinars for a poem praising Saifud-Dawla. What is the secret of this poem? And was the single Dinar equal to the artistic and literary value or was it equal to the praising values of the poem? Or were they mere praising values.

There are many words in Arabic that are similar in that they are voiceless but different in their inflections. This leads to a difference in their meaning. This difference is obvious in some and in others needs to thoughtfulness. It needs some pondering and thinking to arrive at that different meaning. For example, 'Al-Janna' and 'Al-Junna', 'Al-Dhar' and 'Al-Dhur', 'Al-Karh' and 'Al-Kurh', 'Haml' and 'Heml', etc. The importance of the studies lies in fixing the meaning for each inflection of the three short inflections and using them for similar words arriving at a clear and precise understanding for those words. Then orienting the different reading in one word depending on those meaning.

Tenure is specifying the beginning and end of an action. This could come from the divine source as an act of worship or from another source. This research focuses on those aspects impacted by the tenure of the marriage contract rendering it null and void or invalid unless amended. According to the Shaf’I and Hanbali schools, the text of the contract being the basic component of the contract by the unanimous consensus of the jurists, is valid only if stated in the past tense. The Hanafi and the Maliki schools, however, allow it in the non-past. All the prerequisites of the marriage contract statement must be fulfilled containing no subject clause. Also, a precondition for its validity is permanency and non-restriction to a time frame. In view of the negative effects of tenure on the marriage contract, Islam has abolished all kinds of temporary marriages, such as terminal marriage mut’a, temporary marriage, divorce pre-conditioned marriage, a marriage for the purpose of legally remarrying the former husband, and the marriage with the intention of divorce according to some jurists.

Muhammad Ali Pasha managed to modernize Egypt and transformed it from the chaotic situation due to Mameluke reign into a more organized situation through modernizing the administration and military systems. He built many irrigation projects and modern industries, sent students and scientific missions to Europe and built printing and established a modern Egyptian newspaper. He expanded military domination over Hejaz, Sudan and the Levant. This military expansion needed a financial system that can bear the economic difficulties. The research discusses the financial policy of Muhammad Ali Pasha regarding tax and the influential changes upon the Egyptian economy, also the extent in which such an administration is in relation to Muhammad Ali Pasha’s policy in term of taxes, which were the main sources for funding his domestic projects and outer wars. His tax policy affected the Egyptian society. The research came to an important conclusion that in spite of the fact that Muhammad Ali Pasha being able of modernizing Egypt in Administration, economy and military fields via depending on self-efforts, but all these were on the expense of Egyptian people who were been exhausted by different types of taxes. Also on the expense of Egyptian economy which consumed all its ability and resources. Such policy interprets the reason behind the Egypt’s foreign debts and rising of loans in the reign of his Caliphs or successors. The research opens the gate for the researchers in the field of history of Egyptian economy to do deeper studies on the administrative and economic policies and find the shortcomings in the economic legislations during Muhammad Ali Pasha reign and which force Egypt to borrow money from European countries and bear the hard debt conditions.

Elbert defines the features as perfect characteristics for the individual and not as a part of the observer's imagination. They refer to behavioral psychological real features specifying the person's behavior. They can be recognized only through observation and recognition. Some are central and basic whereas the others are marginal and useless. Undoubtedly, the character undergoes cultural pressure and its mixed effects which are available in all the parts of social and psychological life. The character emerges in a social-cultural environment. It is the result of a culture of a society and for certain environment and for a social life resulting from the reaction of many factors and various effects representing the duality of thought and reality in their argumentative and causing relation which depends on affect and effect so that we can easily understand the first through the second one and vice versa.

The family has great significance in the individual and society life; because it performs many functions; it mirrors the mechanical feature of the society as regards its cohesion, deconstructions, strength, weakness, progress and retardation. The family depends in its life upon interconnection and wakefulness. What causes the failure of the family system are disagreement and problems that lead to the absence of its stability and eventually to the deconstruction and the resulting negative consequences. Family organization may lead to avoid the increase of the problems and demolish differences and finally keep of the family and its function and interconnection in it. The study aims at presenting the structure of the family and its function besides its positive role which are played by family organization in the continuation of family life. The study, therefore, is divided into procedural part, theoretic part and fieldwork part through a questionnaire to the subjects in the Mosul families. The paper reaches the following findings: Problems in the family happen due to several reasons; the first of which is the negligence of the duties and rights. The problems inside the family do not lead to house leaving. The family is responsible to solve the problems. The family is able to avoid the differences that may lead to divorce.

The study of reference citations in scientific literature is of great importance because it gives indications of the sources referred to and relied upon in these writings. Analyzing the bibliographic references, the nature of the product of an important branch of human knowledge is identified, and its sources are analyzed after objectively, linguistically, temporally and spatially. As the intellectual output is characterized by the capacity and magnitude of its resources and the dispersion of its sources in terms of quality, objectivity, geography and language, in addition to the widening of the circle of the beneficiaries. In order to recognize the diversity of this production in all its aspects, it is necessary to carry out the analysis of bibliographic signs aimed at shedding light on the structural characteristics of the product The researcher's intellectual thinking can be used to evaluate the productivity of the authors as well as to know the trends of the subject literature.

This research investigates the errors made-out by Iraqi Arab and Kurd students of translation department in writing compositions. There are two categories of errors made by EFL students: interlingual and intralingual errors. The first type of errors is resulted from language transfer made by the students' native language ( Corder 1973:59). In contrast, the second type of errors are caused by defective or partial learning of foreign language rather than the transfer of the first language. Accordingly, this study attempts at answering the following questions: Who are more influenced in their mother tongue Arab or Kurd students? Who are more committed intralingual errors Arabic or Kurdish students? What are the most famous generic errors made-out by students in writing their composition? To explain the researcher uses two ways to analyze errors: contrastive analysis and Error Analysis.

This research challenges gender violence; therefore, it is going to discuss Rosanne Kennedy's (2002) and Chris Weedon's (1995) arguments on the term Patriarchy in the gothic fiction of Margaret Atwood’s Lady Oracle (1976). Thus, in order to understand patriarchal relations and gender violence in Lady Oracle, this research is going to discover the main definitions and characteristics of the gothic assigned by Fred Botting (1996), Gina Wisker (2005) and Helene Meyers (2001). However, depending on Sara Mills’ (1995), Teun A. Van Dijk’s (2003) and Michelle M. Lazar's (2007) critical modules, this research provides ways to unfold patriarchal relations and resist gender violence in Lady Oracle. Thus, this research questions the role of violence in shaping Michel Foucault’s Post-Structural Subjectivity within Atwood’s Lady Oracle. It concludes that Gothic Fiction can be women's revolution to express their reaction and resistance to gender violence to maintain or disregard their subjectivity and role in society.

Silence is, in its literal meaning, an act that is expected by the listener to listen to a speech or from people in reading something in any place, but silence is sometimes accidental when no one perceives it as silence. It is inevitably act in some occasions. Linguistically speaking, silence and speech live symbiosis. One depends on another. Thus, it can be said that silence becomes the reverse as well as the integral part of speech. We can also say that no silence without speech and vice versa, i.e. silence or human silence expresses different emotions in human beings for an instance, embarrassment, joy, grief, emotion defense, envy, love, hate, disgust, withdrawal or sulking and for this respect silence carries meaning.

Mood can be realized by distinctions in the form of the verb. It expresses the attitude of the speaker toward what he/she says. It is the characteristic of a verb that tells the recipient what function the verb can perform. Moods of the English Verb : Mood in English is divided by grammarians into three types: (1) indicative, (2) imperative and (3) subjunctive. The following examples are illustrative: (1) John was in the garden. (indicative). (2) Be quiet! (imperative) (3) I insist that he pay the bill. (subjunctive) (4)Beware of the bull in the garden. (imperative) (5)God save the queen! (subjunctive) (Aziz, 1989: 75; Ehrlich and Murphy, 1991: 40-1)

Thinking verses (THVs, for short) are words which signal the illocutionary force of the verse rather than its propositional content. Their principal function is to enable the reader to arrive at an interpretation of the Qur'an which is in line with Allah's Intention. They have certain phonological, syntactic, semantic and contextual features which make them successful strategies for interpreting the Qur'an.

Under the tremendous effect of globalization and the hasty changes happening in the world added to them the intensive exposure to media and internet, some English loanwords have become very familiar in the Mosuli community. Another major reason for the appearance of these words is the technological revolution which presents a large amount of lexical items the wage of which indicates the need to present a linguistic study of the English loanwords. By loanwords we mean words that are transferred from a donor language to a recipient language (Haspelmath, 2008:40). As for borrowability we mean making reference to what can be borrowed and what cannot be borrowed (Tyson, 1993:30). Linguistically speaking, some lexical items can be borrowed more easily than others. That is to say lexical items are more likely to be borrowed than grammatical items. By lexical items we mean content words, mainly nouns. They are usually related to human life's needs. Less likely to be borrowed one verbs and adjectives. Grammatical items like helping verbs, articles, etc. cannot be easily borrowed they are language specific (see Haspelmath, 2008:45 and Sankoff, 2001:50) not like content words that can be easily identified and understood across languages.

In actual usage, nouns appear in noun phrases, and the kind of reference such a noun phrase has depends on the accompanying ‘determiner’. One can distinguish three classes of determiners set up on the basis of their position in the noun phrase in relation to each other: Central determiners (e.g., the, a, this). Predeterminers (e.g., half, all, double). Postdeterminers (e.g., seven, many, few). The definite and indefinite articles are the commonest central determiners and their distribution depends on the class of the accompanying noun. Usually, the definite article is said to precede the expression of entities already mentioned, and the indefinite article is claimed to precede that of newly introduced ones (de Beaugrande, 1980: 137). The present paper tries to show how, although the and a(n) do make up a grammatical system in Modern English, the two articles have quite different roles in the grammar. It also tries to show how the presence or absence of an article may result in an ambiguity having its bearing on the translation.
